We are raising $3.5 million to pay off both mortgages of Abiding Hope and The Hive (the Nature School property) and creating a cash reserve for cash flow. This will free up $420,000 per year to invest in new ministries without adjusting our operational spend plan.

How much are we raising?

We are raising $3.5 million. Abiding Hope owes $2.9 million in mortgage between our two facilities. Our monthly mortgage payments are over $35,000/month or about $420,000/year. If we were UNLEASHED from this debt, we would be able to add tremendously to our ministry without needing to increase our operating spend plan. Hence, we seek to raise $3.5 million over the next three years. The additional $600,000 would be used to set up a cash reserve that we could utilize for cashflow purposes.

What will Abiding Hope do with the added annual income?
  1. Ensure that our current staff is compensated at a level that honors their skills, experience, education, and performance. Compensating our servants well helps with retention and attracting other high performing persons onto the staff.
  2. Create new ministries that support and serve families through this turbulent time in our society. We envision:
    • A family counseling center providing support for parents, spouses, youth, and children.
    • A reconciliation center providing tools for individuals and groups to be instruments of hope and healing in their homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.
    • A care of creation center that draws people into contemplative-action and connects them more deeply with nature.
    • A music school for people of all ages.
  3. A rich partnership with an ELCA seminary that envisions new ways of attracting persons into ministry and equipping them to serve communities within our rapidly changing world.
When should I make my first contribution?

This is a 3-year campaign. Depending on your commited amount and how often you are choosing to give (once, annually, monthly, weekly, etc.), first contributions can happen immediately.

What is the Colorado Child Care Contribution (CCCC) tax credit?

Because the church has a preschool, we qualify for CCCC. Selecting your gift as CCCC means that Colorado will refund you 50% of your gift(s) after you file taxes. You DO NOT have to have a child in child care to qualify. Any gift to Abiding Hope can be designated as CCCC. Visit abidinghope.org/cochildcare to learn more.
